If it’s not good enough for our family, then it is not good enough for yours. We’re fussy like that. We have always been committed to inspiring healthy families with our own fresh traditions, and that commitment keeps us focused on offering fresh and healthy choices to ensure the health of the families in our communities. Sometimes—and always in moderation—fresh can (and needs) to come in the form of an occasional indulgence.
Indulgence is not a four letter word. Allowing yourself to indulge now and again will keep you satisfied and less apt to feel you’re depriving your sweet tooth, which means you’ll be less likely to slam your face onto a dessert table every time you see one. Or is that just me?
Enter the Mini Donut Express. Cooking up fresh, hot mini donuts right in the store, where you get to try them as they wiggle their way off the tiny little conveyor. These are sweet airy little pockets of hot fried batter that defy properties of density as they collapse into nothing when you pop them in your mouth. You instantly can’t believe you’ve actually eaten anything, so you try another. And then another. (This is where it’s good to have a friend with you to slap them out of your hands.)
I ran into Rosanne Longo in front of the Mini Donut Express not too long ago, and we chatted about the idea of indulgence. “We have far too many pressures and areas of our life where we are made to feel guilty – food shouldn’t be one of them,” she told me. “I’ve realized that it’s okay, even necessary to have indulgences, in moderation, of course. I feel good about that, especially knowing that I round out my day and the rest of the week with healthy choices.”
The Mini Donut Express travels around to our various stores offering a fresh, sweet indulgence to our customers as they shop. And with a mission statement of “we deliver smiles” it’s a great fit for the occasional indulgence.
Grant and his Mini Donut Express will be parked in the bakery department of our Fairview store in Burlington starting August 1st. You might be able to spot Rosanne Longo talking to Grant, or is she sampling a mini donut?Mini Donut Express
Be sure to stop in to see the process, and make sure you sample them hot. You’ll probably see me standing there too… smiling.
